Boiler Project, 2018
Proveo was requested to further develop Remote Confined Space Monitoring (RCSM) technology at an oil sands plant in Northern Alberta.
Challenge: Proveo was brought on site to clarify and solidify processes surrounding RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) to better develop the information available in case of an emergency.
Action: Proveo was able to develop a process to better determine if the owner of the triggered RFID is present in a confined space — which gives essential information for emergency services and proper rescue.
Result:
- Overall cost savings utilizing RCSM vs traditional confined space management methods for this project was 28.44%
- Reduced the risk exposure hours for personnel by 7,350 hours
Takeaway: As an ever innovating and technology-focused company, Proveo is always looking for ways to push past the stand and provide a higher standard for confined space safety.
